A lot of people are spelling “Gucci Mane” wrong these days. The most common misspelling is forgetting the letter “E” on the end of “Man(e).” Although Gucci’s real name is Radric Davis, his stage name is Gucci Mane. His father’s nickname was “Gucci Man” without the letter “E,” which is where his nickname was derived from. The word “Man” is obviously pronounced differently than “Mane.” It’s no big deal if you’ve been spelling his name wrong, but you may not be able to find him on iTunes to purchase his music if you are not able to get the spelling correct. Most true Gucci fans do not have a problem with this, but a lot of people that hear his name do.
Most people will still be able to find Gucci Mane music even if they spell his name incorrectly, but there’s no need to be spelling the name wrong. If you spell his name wrong on Google, it will even ask you as the searcher (“Did you mean: Gucci Mane?”). If you are new to hearing this artist, it would be a good idea to read up on a Gucci Mane biography or take a look at some Gucci Mane mixtapes. His buzz has continued to grow and he has continued to make quality music as both an artist that has street appeal and mainstream success.
You may have heard the songs “So Icy,” “Wasted,” “Photo Shoot,” “I Think I Love Her,” “Crime Wave (Remix)” or “Competition,” because they have had such an influence in shaping the world of hip-hop. Gucci Mane has been named one of MTVs hottest rappers, holding down the number six spot for 2009. This is an impressive accomplishment for someone that has literally come from the streets of Zone 6 in East Atlanta.
What’s ironic is the fact that Gucci Mane got the number 6 spot on the hottest rappers list and he represents “Zone 6” in East Atlanta. If you take the time to listen to The Burrprint 3D: The Movie, he talks more about this in one of the interludes. If you are a fan of Gucci, be sure to get up on all of his latest material. He floods the streets with free mixtapes and they go crazy to see his shows. He plans on releasing the highly anticipated album entitled The State vs. Radric Davis in December 2009 (or as fans may call DecemBRRR).
So the next time you see someone spelling his name “Gucci Man,” be sure to correct them and show them to a couple of your favorite tracks by him. A lot of people don’t recognize his classic tracks and only get to experience a track that they hear on the radio. Make sure that you show them to a couple of his best mixtapes and explain why you are a fan of Gucci’s songs. His lyrical game is getting better every single day, he’s got beats that pound (Zaytoven), and is grinding harder than any artist in the game, period.
