A new joint from Juvenile from his album “Cocky & Confident” called “Gotta Get It” features a guest appearance from none other than Gucci Mane because he felt like adding a verse. In this one, Gucci goes wild over a knocking instrumental produced by Precise. You already know that Radric goes ham with his verse which consists of the following lyrics: “Kilo on the floor, sold it to him but I won’t admit it, I’m a hood nigga shawty you a hood critic, I’m on that good liquor shawty, smokin real,” and “Hip hop BET awards sittin right next to Missy, red carpet Gucci walk through.” Juvenile, also called “Juvie,” definitely does his thing and has made a mark in the game with this track. Although it would have been dope if this song was official, it’s still cool to hear a nice non-official New Orleans and East Atlanta hip hop music connection.
The beat knocks with bass from start to finish and all of the verses are all hot. The chorus is somewhat repetitive, but sounds really dope on this joint. It is definitely a good thing to see these two artists hooking up to create such a crazy track for the south and all rap music fans alike to rock with. The album that this track is featured on was released on December 1, 2009. There are multiple versions of this song around the internet, and one version features only verses from Juvenile. The official music video does not include the guest appearance from Gucci Mane, because that was not considered “official.”
Either way, you should recognize that he contributed an awesome verse. Word is that Gucci felt like adding a verse to the track after it dropped in order to create an unofficial “Gotta Get It Remix.” The instrumental is not altered at all and most people would think that this was the actual single to the Cocky and Confident album due to the fact that Gucci’s verse is perfectly sandwiched between Juvenile’s. The two have collaborated before on songs like “I’m Expecting” and “Trigger Play,” in case you were wondering.
Juvenile & Gucci Mane – Gotta Get It (prod. Precise)
It would be nice to have a coordinated and official collaboration between these two southern rap music heavyweights in the future. For now, take the time to rock out to this track and check out how flame Gucci Mane’s verse is on this one. This clearly demonstrates that Gucci is on top of his game when he’s dropping sick verses like this just for fun. Obviously if you are a fan of both Juvenile and Gucci, you will want to make sure that you get a copy in your music collection.
