The song “Sponsor” by Teairra Mari features Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy and is one of the hottest to hit the radio stations in 2010. It is a mainstream song and Teairra Mari wanted Gucci Mane to drop the opening verse on the song and it turned out to be a major banger. Gucci raps: “no my name ain’t Gilligan, but lets go to an island, first I’ll make you smile, but I’d rather buy you diamonds.” He definitely uses some clever wordplay that everybody can relate to and enjoy on this track. The production on this track is phenomenal, and Teairra Mari laces the chorus with her great singing skills.

Soulja Boy raps after Teairra does some singing for awhile and he closes out the verse well. It was cool to see two southern artists come together (Gucci and Soulja) and do this track justice with their guest appearances. I’m sure that Teairra was appreciative that they could bring a little bit of both street appeal and mainstream appeal to the track that was already hot before they jumped on it. You can get this track at all digital retailers like iTunes, and it is definitely a good purchase if you are a fan of Gucci Mane and his cameos.

Teairra Mari decided that it would be a good idea to make an official music video for her single and the video turned out very hot. You can watch it below and see whether you are digging what you see. Teairra is officially linked up with Asylum Records and she looks gorgeous in this video – so you should like that. Unfortunately, Gucci Mane was not able to make an appearance in this video, but you will see Soulja Boy in it towards the end of the video.

Teairra Mari – Sponsor Official Video

Teairra is the type of artist that most girls and women will like because she looks good, has a great singing voice, and is talented at making music. This song is no exception and really is nothing short of a hit – it was only appropriate to link up with Gucci Mane to make it even bigger. Soulja Boy ends the rapping with “I’ll take you to go shopping, then we can go out to eat.” Both artists stepped their game up and brought some lyrical content that they knew the ladies would like to hear. Teairra sings, “I got myself a sponsor, buh bye bye.”
