Gucci Mane Interview (Video)
Here’s a new Gucci Mane interview that he did with XXL Magazine in Manhattan, New York City. The ATL trap star takes you for a walk through New York City and talks about his road to the talk. He lets the people know that he is an authentic performer and a rapper.
Gucci Mane also talks about doing two mixtapes back in 1997, and then dropping some albums and having to deal with prison time. He talks about how he was good at hustling in the hood and about his nationwide song that tore up the radio called “Black Tee.” He followed up “Black Tee” with “So Icey” and eventually made it to have a lot of success on the mixtape scene because people respect how real his music is.
He talks about how he was locked up for a murder charge, but there was no evidence proving that he was involved and was proven innocent in the trial. He talks about how he was grateful for the radio DJ’s and personalities who were able to keep his music relevant during the period of time when he was locked up, as well as Big Cat who gave him studio time when he needed it. He also talks about his album “Back To The Traphouse,” which dropped in 2007 as his first mainstream debut; this project should already be a part of your Gucci collection.
He is an artist that actually puts his full heart and effort into his rhyming, which is largely responsible for the reason that he has become so successful. Gucci Mane discusses the Atlanta strip clubs and how they show his music love anytime that he brings it in to get played.
Though this interview was done in 2008, it is still provides great insight into Gucci Mane music. It is worth a watch for all of the Gucci Mane La Flare supporters and real people out there. Gucci had to go through a lot to get in the position that he’s currently in and to gain the respect that he has currently attained. He also talks about working on his mixtapes while he was locked up.
